Networking Opportunities
Throughout the MCP National Conference there will be multiple opportunities to connect with your peers, share stories, offer ideas, and build relationships. Here are a several of informal opportunities attendees will have:
Networking Continental Breakfast
Location: New York Foyer
Each morning of the conference, the MCP Support Center will be providing a plentiful continental breakfast. During this time, grantees are encouraged to introduce themselves to one-another and build relationships.
Morning Yoga Sessions
Location: Chouteau A
Come and celebrate synchronizing breathing techniques that will balance and energize your being while stretching your whole body to Motown-era and smooth jazz sounds. Then transition into restorative yoga movements while you relax, restore and rejuvenate your mind and body to the sounds of the tropical rainforest. This is an all levels yoga session, first timers are welcome. This is a pre–register event.
Regional Lunches
The MCP Support Center will coordinate lunches on Wednesday, May 18th, where grantees can meet and network with their peers in the same geographic region. As part of the registration process participants will be able to sign up for a regional lunch and receive confirmation for the time and location of the lunch. The MCP Support Center will confirm reservations at the assigned restaurants (within 15 minutes walking distance from the hotel) and set up individual checks for attendees. This is a pre–register event.
Table Topic Lunches
On Thursday, May 19th the MCP Support Center will setup lunches for grantees to meet and have conversations surrounding assigned topics. As part of the registration process participants will be able to sign up for a table topic lunch and receive confirmation for the time and location of the lunch. The MCP Support Center will confirm reservations at the assigned restaurants (within 15 minutes walking distance from the hotel) and set up individual checks for attendees. This is a pre–register event.

Welcome Reception
Location: The Terrace
Join your fellow conference attendees for a two hour reception on May 17th from 5pm–7pm, featuring amazing bbq food in the terrace of our hotel with local entertainment. This will be a great opportunity for continuing conversations starting during the day's sessions, establishing regional or programmatic connects and mingling in a casual but classy environment.
Movie Night with the MCP Support Center
Location: New York
Pull up a chair and grab a soda, snack and popcorn, the MCP grantees are going to the movies, (or rather the movies are coming to you). Join your fellow grantees to view one of the popular feature films suggested by the MCP Support Center for starting conversations with your volunteers and employees. This is a great chance to keep connecting with other conference attendees, relax and gain a nontraditional training technique experience. Space is limited for this Networking Opportunity. This is a pre–register event.
Yoga: Movement For Life – Mind, Body and Breath
Location: Chouteau A/B
This workshop combines a science-based exploration of the body, mind and the self with the exercise system of yoga to support and enhance fitness, health, learning and personal responsibility. The physical demands of yoga require participants to navigate and negotiate many challenges within their bodies and minds. Achieving physical strength, alignment, balance, flexibility and integration requires focus, determination and finesse. These valuable qualities are the benefits of the yoga process and become lifetime tools for wellness. This is a pre–register event.
